Description of the role
The person selected in this competition will participate in research and development tasks carried out in the project entitled “Studies on the dynamics of liquid film formation and evolution in two-phase flows in capillary tubes using chromatic confocal displacement sensors together with the PIV method” funded by the National Science Centre of Poland within OPUS 28 programme (Proposal Number: 2024/55/B/ST8/01704). The project, led by prof. Sławomir Pietrowicz, is to study the geometry of liquid film and the flows in the liquid slugs and liquid film under dynamic flow conditions for isothermal flow in a straight section of glass tube.
Responsibilities
Post-doc will be responsible for carrying out the numerical simulations and performing experiments on the test stand.
- Preliminary modelling, benchmarking results against the CFD model.
- Comparison of one-dimensional modelling results with experimental results.
- Potential modifications of numerical models using experimental results.
Requirements for the candidate
- A MSc in mechanical engineering, energetics, mathematics, or other related field with broad skills in heat transfer measurement
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Advanced knowledge of numerical modelling, data analysis and an excellent understanding of differential equation theory.
- Ability to make effective comparisons and inferences based on experimental results.
- Motivation for self-development and deepening knowledge in the field of thermodynamics and heat transfer

Benefits
Full employment contract initially for a maximum of 46 months
Monthly salary is 11 000 PLN (double gross, it would be the subject of taxes, social and health insurances and other legal deductions according to Polish law).
